Automated Laser Welding
The Modular team recently integrated the Trumpf TruPulse 203 Laser Welder into our custom designed automated robotic system for one of our MedTech customers.
The system is used to weld two sides of a surgical tool using pulses of solid-state lasers to emit short, powerful bursts of light. Critical to the process is the tight tolerance on straightness and runout of the two joined parts which is achieved in the design and precision engineering in the equipment stations. Once welded together, the surgical tool is inspected by a Cognex Vision System to check the alignment of the welded sides.
