We have an exciting career opportunity for a control’s technician. This role would suit Manufacturing, process or maintenance technicians with a familiarity of manufacturing equipment setups wishing to progress their career in the area of equipment automation and controls. This role will provide the opportunity to develop in the area of custom software design, debug and commissioning. You will join a large team of experienced software development and commissioning engineers. There is potential for further education assistance in automation controls engineering inline with personal and business development goals. It is an opportunity to work in an exciting and dynamic environment on diverse range of high end bespoke automated manufacturing equipment

The Role:

  • You will provide support at the commissioning and debug phase of new equipment.
  • Download of PLC programmes
  • Setup of control networks
  • Completion of IO checks
  • Download of HMI programmes
  • Perform initial troubleshooting
  • Create relevant change control documentation
  • After completion of some in-house training and coaching sessions you will be expected to develop new HMI programmes and software documentation
  • Evaluate and assess new technologies
  • Support continuous improvement within the department
  • Support department goals and objectives
  • Travel will be required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum L7 in an Electronic, IT or Technology discipline
  • 2+ years’ experience manufacturing, process or maintenance technicians
  • Experience of working on automation projects (advantage)

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Basic understanding of PLC, HMI & communication protocols (advantage)
  • Control system monitoring and debug
  • Capable of performing electrical troubleshooting
  • Good communication skills
  • Team Player
  • Robotics Knowledge (Advantage) 
  • Keen Interest in Automation & Technology
  • Proficient on PC and Microsoft Office Applications

Full, Clean Drivers License is required
