What you need to have:

  • Minimum L7 in an Electronic, IT or Technology discipline
  • 2+ years’ experience manufacturing, process or maintenance technicians
  • Experience of working on automation projects (advantage)
  • Basic understanding of PLC, HMI & communication protocols (advantage)
  • Control system monitoring and debug
  • Capable of performing electrical troubleshooting


A typical working day or week for a Controls Technician in Modular is…

  • Providing support at the commissioning and debug phase of new equipment
  • Download of PLC & HMI programmes
  • Setup of control networks
  • Completion of IO checks
  • Perform initial troubleshooting
  • Create relevant change control documentation
  • After completion of some in-house training and coaching sessions you will be expected to develop new HMI programmes and software documentation
  • Evaluate and assess new technologies
  • Travel will be required
